First dates can sometime be filled with nervousness butterflies and jitters. To help ease your first date jitters and keep the conversation moving, try one of these questions to spark conversation.
1.) How was your day? It’s
a simple question yet it can be easily forgotten. The question can also lead
into follow up questions for conversation on what they do for fun, their job
and what little things he/she may like or not like in their daily life.
2.) What’s the best meal you’ve ever had? Instead of asking the predictable “What’s your favorite kind of food?” question, ask something more specific. You’ll likely get an entertaining story about food rather than a one-word answer that can lead into a conversation about hobbies/interests, favorite dining areas (which could help with planning date #2!) or favorite vacation destinations.
3.) In which television show’s world would you most want to live? Pop culture can both bond and divide us. Keeping the conversation light and fun for a first date is really important….save the heavy stuff for down the road when a relationship is actually going somewhere!
4.) If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? You’ll learn more about your date and what qualities make a person interesting to them. Just like the best meal question, this question can also spark follow up conversation on hobbies/interests, likes/dislikes, etc. while keeping the conversation fun and not too heavy.
