Have you ever considered making a New Year’s change that will change your dating experiences for the better? After all, what’s more exciting? Ask yourself what do you want your life to be in 2016! Here are a few ideas on how to upgrade your dating life in 2016.
Upgrade your first impression. Confidence is key along with a few other things. Body language is easy to read on anyone. So let’s make sure that yours is on point to make you engaging with positive interactions.
- Eye contact – 90% of the time when you’re talking, 70% of the time when you’re listening.
- Smile – Not a big plastered-on smile, but look friendly. It will help your mood too.
- Shoulders Back – Don’t hunch forward.
- Stand Tall – Keep your head up!
Say yes to someone who isn’t your type. Instead of thinking of excuses, have the “why not” attitude. Try saying yes more! So he plays baseball with his buddies every Thursday, and you’re not into it, so what? You can learn a thing or two from each other. Saying “yes” to people you wouldn’t usually consider dating will really help you figure out the kind of person you’re looking for. To ensure you don’t overlook someone who could be a perfect match, say yes more, and think outside the box.
Make the first move. Its nearly 2016, and it’s not abnormal for women to make the first move. Let him know that he’s caught your eye before someone else does. Making the first move might put you a little out of your comfort zone, but that’s a good thing, right? Guys are going to be flattered that you’re the one making the first move and approaching/reaching out to them, and if you do it right, you could end up dating someone awesome. Say something to grab their attention, be confident and happy.
Do your own thing. Don’t let a man become the center of your universe. Men are attracted to a woman who gets the concept of interdependence. Interdependence requires both sides to be independent and dependent, meaning you’ve created a space for your relationship, as well as a space for your work, friends and passions. Don’t lose the things that are most important to you. Keep doing girls night every Wednesday, or trivia every other Monday. You want to be accepted as who you are.
